Constellations as Instruments in Trauma Therapie – Possibilities and Limits

Constellations deal very often with transgenerational connections and with the bonds towards the parents. But as a facilitator you also will be confronted with the shocks of your clients out of their own life f. e. sexual abuse, early separation of the mother, accidents and losses. The nearer in time a shock is, the less it is integrated, the bigger is the challenge for the facilitator. Because clients fall back very quickly into the frozen state of the shock, often not even noticed, and get retraumatized.
Therefore facilitators need to know more about trauma. Trauma Constellations demand a special attention, the right skills and a rich experience. Then they help to heal wounds, to reconnect bonds which are torn apart and to come in peace with some horrible events which happened.
This training offers a basic understanding about trauma, the posttraumatic symptoms and how you can use constellations in trauma therapy. An additional goal is to widen the personal containment of the therapist in dealing with trauma. In order to reach there we work with constellations (personal issues and supervision cases) and do exercises or practice in small groups.
Contents:
• The biological foundation of trauma
• How to notice and avoid retraumatisation
• The protection of clients and representatives
• The pendulation between ressource and trauma
• Special elements in Trauma Constellations
• The lost part of the soul - where shamans and facilitators come to the same conclusion
• The many forms of guilt
• How to heal guilt
• Sexual abuse and ist basic roots in the relationship between men and women
• Shocks in early childhood

The training is meant for facilatators who want to enlarge their competence – limited number of 25
Time:
7,5 days of training with one day off between
Starting Thursday, 3. 9., 18.00 with the dinner. Opening at 20.00 and finishing Friday, 11. 9., 13.00
Dayly working time around 6 hours : 9.30 – 13.00, 15.00 - 18.30. Friday till Sunday, Tuesday till Friday.
Monday. 7. 9. will be the day off. You will get propositions what you can see and visit on this day.
Fee:
800 Euro (without food and accommodation)
If you inscribe before june 15, 2009, you get a reduction of 10 percent (80 Euro)

The location is on the outskirts of Freiburg near the forest. Waldhof is a beautiful but simple place which serves the continuing education. With a 15 minute walk you reach the the tram which leads you to the center of Freiburg. Freiburg is one of the nicest cities in Germany with a famous cathedral and is placed in a beautiful landscape just right at the Black Forest.
Trainer:
Bertold Ulsamer has a degree in clinical Psychology and holds a PHD in law. Since 1995 he has lead workshops and facilitated trainings in Europe, USA and China. He did the 3-year training with Peter Levine in Trauma work ("Somatic Experiencing"). He is author of "The Healing Power of the Past" (amazon) and "The Art and Craft of Leading Family constellation" and of 6 other books about constellation work in Germany. He is leading a 16-day lasting training for facilitators about trauma and constellation in Italy. This workshop contains the most important parts of this training structure.
Assistance:
Assistance Joyce Schmid has been facilitating constellations for ten years. She has extensive Trauma training with Peter Levine in Somatic Experiencing and has worked in various institutions in Switzerland with young adults with psychosis, learning disabilities, perception disabilities and autism. She taught „Trauma and Constellations” in South Africa. Further interests include mediation and the advanced energy psychology of Fred Gallo. Originally from Canada, Joyce emigrated to Switzerland in 1973.
Application Form
Boarding contains breakfast, lunch and dinner. On the day off you will have only breakfast in the Waldhof.
Transportation
Participants can reach Freiburg with train from Francfort or Zurich (2 hours).
In Freiburg you take a taxi (costs around € 15,-)
Fees, payment
The fee for the workshop is € 800.00 (non-refundable booking fee € 150.00 plus tuition € 650.00).
If you inscribe before june 15, 2009, you get a reduction of 10 percent (80 Euro).
Room and board is extra, depending on your choice of accommodations.
The non-refundable booking fee of € 150.00 is due with your application. Because of the high banktransfer charges you may pay the remainder of the tuition and the fee for room and board on the first dayof the training in cash.
You may cancel your booking up to June 15, 2009. After that date, I will refund any payment less € 150.00booking fee if I are able to find a replacement person from our waiting list.
